tried booting with install disc in and pushing "c" on keyboard and doesn't work. Using a apple wireless keyboard. Also used the keyboard that came with Mac Pro but didn't work nor did a wired logitech.
What is the source of the idea that the mac aluminum keyboard won't work with the mini? That keyboard works on my mini and windows pcs. There was some kind of usb/keyboard firmware update for the keyboard early this year addressing some problems...
On the issue of not being able to boot the install disc, try holding down SHIFT when booting with the install disc inserted in the drive. This will run safe mode and boot from the disc.
Boece means the keys, such as C or Option which are held down during startup to do things like boot to a MacOS install disk in the optical drive, or to the boot loader screen. These keys don't work when used with the aluminium keyboard.
