stupid safari

Troubleshooting steps are:
- Go to Settings >Safari and clear history/cookies/cache
- reboot (hold the sleep/wake and home button until the Apple logo appears)
- restore in iTunes

I would also remove all Apps and see how the phone does. If it works fine, readd the apps one at a time until the problem reoccurs.

Is that a question??? What firmware are you on? If it's not 2.1 then update. If it is, then you can restore the phone whilst connected to itunes on your computer.

then you can make an appointment at the Genius Bar or call 800 my iphone.

The iphone has a one year warranty. If it is defective, the Apple will replace it.

I have this problem all the time. I stopped bothering with safari and maps and pictures. I've taken all the advice and the problem is still there. I am on firmware 2.1, I've deleted any apps I've downloaded, I've cleared the cache, and finally restored the phone to original, nothing works.
Thing is, we probably both have defective phones. I work at best buy and if anyone bring in a phone like this, we'll just give them a new one. That is assuming that the customer is paying $15 a month for best buy insurance. Which is also stupid by the way. (Trust me I work there)

my iphone does this all the time.. it is so irritaing ironically it does it everytime i go on the apple website on my iphone ! it freezes then goes back to the main screen !

I have this same problem. I am on 2.1 and i have cleared the cache and restored but to no avail. The user was right; safari is stupid and so is the iPhone.
