I found out when and where my MBP was made. Mine works great and the hinge is fine which I was most worried about. It appears mine was built about 3 weeks ago and I can imagine after all the feedback problems they might have tightened it up and also paid more attention to fingerprints since I don"t have any like others are reporting. It shows over 8000 made in a week which I imagine is not full production so there might be multiple factories, but I really have no clue. It was made in week 41 so its right off the assembly line. Curious to see if there are other factories in different cities. That could give some insight to why some are having problems with hinges and some not. Or maybe it's because it's so new. I intentionally left off the serial number here. Link to see yours can be found at:

What about a serial that begins with WQ8. Which is where a lot of the new macbooks and macbook pros are being made?

Does the Q stand for Quanta?

I got my MBP slightly more than a week ago. Never had any problems with it so far. Wifi is so much better than my old HP DV9000 Pavilion.
