Charging iPod nano via iHome iH5

The 4G nano only charges via USB and the iHome only charges via FireWire.

I also battled with keeping my new ipod charged up. I had 2 accessories that would charge my 2nd gen which of course no longer work with the 4th gen. I am completely dissapointed in Apple for making that change without warning or notice. I ordered the "passPORT" from Scosche Industries, Inc. and just received it yesterday (it was on backorder since early October). IT COMPLETELY FIXES THE PROBLEM! It is an adaptor that works with both my countertop ihome and my FM transmitter car charger. I will mainly leave mine in my car but when i want to I can use in my ihome. You seem to know what youre talking about here so I have a question for you. When I got the Nano for my daughter, it came with a docking station adapter. What will this work on?? She has the ihome I5 and I can for the life of me figure out how this thing fits in there. CAn ya help me out here?? Thanks for the helpful info and replies!!

Unfortunately the dock adaptor that came with the ipod wont fit in your daughters iH5.

That dock adaptor only works with a limited amount of products (would be listed in that particular products manual) and apple's universal dock (for charging and syncing only).

The iH5 has its own set of adaptors, I would suggest that you try some of the other adaptors (e.g. thin or thick ipod's) since iH5 does not offer an adaptor for the new nano.

Three of my new 8Gig iPod Nano (which I'm assumng is the 4th Gen) works intermittently with the different devices when charging.

This Apple stuff STINKS !! --- I can't wait for HP, Cisco, or Nokia to over-take them.

My BLACK iHome will charge all three of my new iPods.
My White iHome will not charge any of the three new iPods.
Both are the same type (I believe H5s) and both were bought at the same time at the same store !! --- one was white, the other black !!!

Explain that... !!!!

They are ticking me off....

My next MP3 player certainly won't be made by Apple !!
I wish I would have not purchased these last three !!!

I have a question. Was your Ihome an IH5? Because I called Schoche and they said that my ihome (which is an ih5) was not compatible with the passPORT.
