For PAGES (and other i-work applications...) are the only dictionaries available the 14 choices listed under:

Text Inspector > More > Languages

I am seeking Turkish language support; I have set International preferences to Turkish/Türkiye and have enabled keyboard switching between EN US and Turkish keyboards but can find no settings for an editor in Turkish.

Teşekkür ederim.

Almost....there is a version for intel macs, it does have a turkish dictionary. I did download it, installed the dictionary, turned on PAGES and it did not seem to work...then I read:

Problem:

cocoAspell does not work with Pages. Pages ignores the language specified in the Spelling window and uses the language settings from the "More" tab in the Inspector panel. In my opinion this is a gross inconsistency with the normal user interface experience. The conclusion is that you can use cocoAspell with Pages if you are lucky to be using one of the Apple defined languages.

cocoAspell version affected: all

Does not seem to work entering text into this form or in email either: Selecting a redlined word and going to Show Spelling and Grammar > Dictionaries simply returns you to the basic dictionaries.

This is my first Mac and I bought it for its supposed superior text document creation abilities but the ability to expand the language list within iwork is rather critical. I'm somewhat miffed that the installed dictionaries include Dansk, Svenska and Nederlands which combined do not amount to the 150 million who speak Turkish. It is perhaps a 2 minute fix for English based XP and Vista.

I think that may be wrong. I have the Greek dictionary installed with CocoaSpell and it seems to work fine in Pages. Can you choose Turkish in Inspector > Text > More > Language? Have you checked its box in System Prefs/Spelling? I'll try the Turkish one myself later.

Certainly Apple does not itself provide spell checking in Turkish yet, and there is no guarantee anyone else will do so. To tell Apple you want that use this link:

Yes, it added the Spelling choice to System Preferences and you could select the dictionary, however it did not work.

In the meantime I found this on a Turkish language Mac forum: Türkçe Araçlar (Turkish Tools)
from ideaStrata İş Geliştirme Ofisi / info@ideastrata.com and downloaded it from:

The installation pops the dictionary right into the list and so far it is working with both Pages and this form and so I would assume mail and other programs work too.

Thanks for that useful resource! Probably better than aspell in any case.

Here is a photo of Cocoaspell Turkish working in Pages for me:
