Changing the Avatar in Mail.app

Is there any way I can change the avatar in Mail.app? It was originally set to be the same as my general user account avatar (the stupid cat one), but now I've changed the general avatar, the one in Mail.app is still the stupid cat.

MacBook Pro, Mac OS X (10.5.5)

go into address book, find the contact that relates to you, change avatar there, and it updates everywhere else!
