Adding application to iPhone does not work

My iPhone is runnig v. 1.1.4 .I have bought 2 games so far from the iTunes store after seeing Labrinth on one of the new 3G phones. I can see the icons for the applcations but they do not appear on my iPhone.

Dragging and dropping does not work so is there something I am not doing correctly?

Applications are only functional on 2.0 or later software.

You must update your iPhone OS to version 2.x, using the Check for Updates function in iTunes (Summary tab with the iPhone connected). v2.x is required for the App Store.
