I went through my system today moving a bunch of personal files, including financial stuff to a back up drive, so that we wouldn't have any personal stuff on the main HD. Then I went back and did a search to make sure everything was gone and some of the file names that I had been moving around showed up in the main console log file.
The same references were in the current syslog so I deleted it. For some reason, though, I couldn't delete the console log, even when using the console app. Another thread here in support suggested removing the console.plist file. That didn't do anything.
I really would like to get my personal financial file names out of the log. Is there a way to delete a few lines? Thanks to all for the feedback and excuse my paranoia.
One of the kids had a laptop stolen a while back and we were all bonkers over whether people could use it to get into their bank and college accounts.
