pages randomly grouping together things with irritating yellow box

how do I take control of this grouping? it's randomly creating its own sections ... it now has 4 pages in one which is weird ... I need to delete a specific page and it won't let me without taking down the rest ...

I think you are attempting this newsletter in Word Processing mode, which is the wrong mode for this job, try using the Layout mode and creating the text boxes and image boxes independently and linking them as necessary to get the text flow.

Apple has a good set of basic tutorials on its website which will show you how to go about this.

thank you! I knew I wasn't the only one ...

well let me phrase my question another way ...
I'm doing a newsletter ... each individual article is inside its own text box, I used to do this on Publisher so that they wouldn't "float" around as much while I formatted/revised/edited ...
does anyone know a better way of creating a newsletter in Pages that'll work with, instead of apparently against, this system of sectioning?
thanks!

I would suggest you use the Layout mode rather than Word Processing. In Layout, each page is a section. Use connecting text boxes to continue to another page. You will be able to delete or rearrange pages freely this way. Show layout, invisibles and thumbnails if you're not already doing this. You can easily switch layout on and off with the shortcut when you want to see how things look on the page without the boxes around them.
