Behringer FCB1010 foot controller

I am using a Behringer FCB1010 foot controller with MainStage (just starting out actually) and I'm having some trouble getting MainStage to reliably react to the midi signals it sends. Does anyone have any experience with this combination. What I'm wondering is how to get the FCB to only send one MIDI message for each press of the pedals. I want to use it to control things like taps and feedback amount in delay designer, and muting of bus sends. Any advice on the best way to program it for these purposes? I realise that my novice status in working with MIDI isn't helping me here.

Any help gratefully accepted.

I don't know this pedal, but I had a look at the manual on the web earlier today. I would say that you have a problem with this pedal in MainStage. As far as I can make out, the ten foot switches act as buttons on a MIDI controller. That is they look as though all they can do is send on/off messages. You could use them to trigger Ultrabeat & turn items on & off but that is all. Your two pedals send continuous control messages, so they can be used to control volume, tone changes, delay times etc. Your problem is . . . you only have two of them. It is going to be messy to set them up to do more than a couple of simple tasks.

For Delay Designer, assign one foot switch, eg No1, to bypass the delay. Another to act as a tap tempo. A third could be assigned to mute a bus send. NB each bus send will need a different pedal assigned to it.
Feedback amount will have to be controlled by one of your two pedals.

Get your manual out and read the section on 'Learn' in the Layout screen. That will tell you how to get your foot switches & pedals recognised by MainStage.
After that, go to the Edit screen.
Select the set that you want to control.
Click on a pedal to select it.
In the panel underneath, click on the Channel name
Click on Delay designer in the next column
Click on Feedback in the next column
Pedal assigned.

Repeat the process to assign foot switches to various tasks.

I hope this helps a bit. It is much easier to do than it is to explain.

I actually have the same foot pedal but haven't broken it out yet and tried anything.

Regardless, check out Bome's midi translator (link at bottom). It's really an awesome program. It can turn your foot pedal into a practically infinite amount of controls. For example, you can have foot switch 1 send one message (or multiple messages) then the next time you hit the same switch it sends a completely different message (or set of messages). It wouldn't hurt to check it out. I believe they have a free 60 day trial right now because it's a beta version.

I've been busy and haven't gotten into it all yet but I'm pretty sure Bome's midi translator is going to play a huge part in my setup alongside Mainstage.
