The Save As Function In Pages Seems Very Limited

I just started using Pages after getting a new machine. Always used Appleworks, MS Word or even Clarisworks before. Saving As or Inputting files in other formats with Pages is so lame, I went back to Appleworks.

Imac, Mac OS X (10.5.5)

Saving As or Inputting files in other formats with Pages is so lame, I went back to Appleworks.

Pages uses Export instead of Save As for creating other formats.
