Logic pro 8 and the Akai MPK49 49-Key MIDI Controller

im new in music production and so in logic, i know that i need a keyboard controller to use logic, i have in mind the Akai MPK49 49-Key MIDI Controller,so i wonder if this keyboard can do all the job without using logic, or if is gonna be just helpfull using both to do the job. thnks

If I understand your question, you will be able to use the MPK49 to control Logic Studio. However there is no preset on the MPK 49 to control Logic so you will have some minor work.

Here is a document that instructs you how to change the settings in Logic Studio.

This will get the MPK49 transport, note repeat, tap tempo and of course the keyboard and pads to control Logic. Beyond this you can use the learn mode (command L) in Logic, for example, to get the sliders, knobs and buttons on the MPK49 to control the volume, pan, mute and solo on up to 24 tracks within Logic.

I occasionally reach for the mouse pad on my laptop but I find this to be a very functional controller for Logic Studio.
