Error 2131

Hoping someone can help me out on this one. When trying to burn a cd from latest version of Itunes I get the error 2131 message. I noticed other people have had similar problems on Dell and Toshiba. I amin the UK and have a Medion Akoya S5610 notebook. The drive installed is TSST Corp, SN-S083A cd/dvd. I have run diagnostics from Itunes has others have been told to do. I contacted Apple who didn't seem to have an answer. The computer manufacturer said it is an Itunes problem not theirs. Im gettting really frustrated with this. Any help appreciated. Thanks.

The 2131 error has been associated with TSST TS-L632* optical drives

If you search the iTunes for Windows forum for 2131 you will find numerous references.

I don't know whether the same problem affects your particular model of drive from the same manufacturer - the error number is the same. Googling it I can't find any references to it and iTunes burning issues.

The TS-L632 drive needed a firmware update to fix the problem which Dell and Toshiba provided. Otherwise some people got there computer supplier to swap their drive for another make.

I would check you computer manufactures download site to see if there is a firmware update for your drive. Other wise I would discuss the problem with your computer supplier and say that this is a well know problem with another Samsung drive.

Hi, I had the same problem with iTunes and a _TSST Corp CD/DVD TS-L632H ATA device_, but I "solved" it just trying different types of CDs - and voilà, with a rewritable SONY CD (cd-rw) and low burning speed (1x - 4x) it worked perfectly. However, with a SONY CD which was only once recordable I experienced again the 2131-error. Yet I do not know if it also works with rewritable CDs of other manufacturers...

Best regards, Kai
