regarding loud click noise on trackpad..

Well, this is actually normal. and it is louder than older trackpads! But unfortunately that is the way engineers wanted to sound. You will have to get used to it, use the tap option instead of using the click or wait until it wears off. The last one i don't think will happen because i have a year and a half macbook, and the click button made also noise and still does! so just choose the best for you! but try to press the trackpad until it wears off!! just kidding! hope this can help you!

Due to random issues (often related to the graphics card) I have had several of the new MacBook Pros in my hands. The first one and my current have the loudest trackpad click known to man. The other 3 had clicks that sound normal ... soft by comparison. That sound is NOT normal but, unfortunately, there seem to be a bunch both 2.4GHz & 2.53GHz with the loud trackpad issue.

bravo. the paper does the trick. now all i need is a tri-screwdriver to mess with that trackpad screw. never thought i'd become a mac mechanic. and what about those weak hinges? has anyone found a way to make them tighter? that lid keeps falling on my fingers.

Connect your machine to power. Remove the battery. Leave machine running. Take a small screwdriver and carefully turn that tri-wing screw that's at the bottom of the trackpad. You will find a position that suits you just well. Insert battery. Close battery lid. Enjoy your trackpad.

But beware of the screen. The hinges are a desaster and the screen will sooner or later crush one of your fingers. If you want to use a MacBook Pro for example in an airplane, use gaffer tape to prevent the screen from falling forwards. I am not joking.

hey, that is a great tip Brahma M - thanks for sharing it with us.

man...just a general observation... apple users must have the ugliest computers with their filed down edges, melting protective plastic covers, and gaffer tape galore! why buy apple at all? some users should just build their own computers.

Ive used my new macbook pro on at least eleven different flights. ive never had a problem with the screen "falling" forward. i think you need to have your macbook looked at - unless you are joking??? "falling screens" are not normal.

it's normal. However i believe it does seem to get a bit softer and a bit quieter after much use. I've set my trackpad to 'tap' click though for now.
