Unable to install Itunes 8 with Vista 64 bit

"The Winows installer service could not be accessed. This can occur if the Windows Installer is not correctly installed. Contact your support personnel for assistance"

I have tried everything that is around on the net, but still nothing, i always get the above message when trying to install itunes 8.0 Help anyone!

PC, Windows Vista, 64 bit

Here is the fix for Itunes Windows Installer Service error and VB Script error. Go to OCNexus.com and look for 64bit WRk ArOunDs. Note "ITUNES 64bit WinInstaller Service" and download file and follow instructions.

2 common problems solved! It is a compilation that I had to complete as I ran into this problem installing on my wife's laptop.

I have the same issue, Vista 64 + iTunes 8 = "The Windows Installer Service could not be accessed." I tried the solution listed above with no change in the results.
