How does a stylus work?

So, I hear that they make a stylus for the iPod touch but the iPod touch responds to body heat so how does it pick up a stylus as body heat?

The touch pad works with capacitance in the skin, not body heat.
There is a capacative material on te end of the stylus.

I bought one and it's just like a pencil with a soft rubber on the end. Only thing that works but they are great 😉

Is it easier to use the keyboard with the stylus? My fingers aren't very big, but I have trouble sometimes touching the right key.
