Moving Jam Pack Files To Ableton?

I would also like an answer! using jam packs in ableton would be sweet.

I'm sure there is an easier way to do this and when I learn this I'll be sure to let you know. But for the meantime:

1. Create a new garage band file.
2. Drag the sample you want to use into a new track (if u add effects to it you will not be able to remove them once you drag it into ableton)
3. Go to Export song to disk and save onto your desktop
4. Create a new folder in your Live Library folder (something like Converted loop)
5. Now you can drag that file directly into your live library folder or you can convert it again to mp3 in itunes and drag the mp3 in the converted loops file you made
6. Open a new session in live and drag that file into a track from your library

It really doesn't take that long...but it works for the meantime. Unfortunately, you'll have to do each sample individually... but ur not going to use all the samples from the jam pack at once anyway. If you find another way lmk

STOP THE PRESSES!!

After reading another forum...I found the way to do this! The most convenient was to do this is:


1. In your hardrive go to :Open /Library/Application Support/Garageband/
2. In that folder you will find a your jam pack folders
3. Copy that folder into in your live library folder
4. Now when you open up Ableton live and go to your live library you will that folder in there and be able to use them

Or

1. Open Ableton
2. Open your showbrowse/hide brower
3. search for apple loops and everything should b there for you to use

You can also make an alias of the jam pack folder, after I copied it over I realized it added 2.3GB onto my computer. Putting the alias folder inside the live library folder will avoid this.
