Safari keeps refreshing itself.

How to stop that? Everytime I read a story on safari, put it to sleep mode, go somewhere, turn it back on, it refreshing. Then I have to find where I left it last time. By the way, what is the best App to get the College Football score LIVE!
Thank you.

I'm curious about this as well, especially since the behavior doesn't seem to be consistent. Sometimes a page will refresh itself every time I switch back to it from another tab or from the home screen. Sometimes a page will refresh when I bring the phone back from sleep. Other times, I'll do a multitude of activities/application switching, and the page will never refresh.

Does anyone know what the trigger is or a way to make it stop?

Refreshing is controlled on the server end, not the browser end. The web page you are browsing has refresh turned on. (Well, that's ALMOST true, close enough for this discussion anyway).

Do not Sleep the phone with Safari running. It will keep refreshing in the background and use up your battery very fast. Close safari first, then sleep.

But if Safari is re-opened, it will return to that page, realize its refresh has long since expired and do an immediate refresh. This is not a bug, its a feature.
Complain to the web site manager. Safari is acting the same way Firefox or any other standards compliant browser would act.

Safari keeps refreshing itself.
