Power Point and Video

So I have to deliver a video that contains slides from a Power Point presentation. I'd imagine if I import the slides as image files it shouldn't be a problem. Does anyone have pointers for importing these files?

Thanks,
Matt

Bear in mind, that most PPt users, do not set their projects up with 'screen safe/title safe' in mind.

I usually end up cropping the slides slightly, scaling them down a bit, and putting them over some type of background plate or motion background.

If your delivery is to be viewed on a computer, this is not an issue...only if it is to be viewed on a television set.

Nice hijacking of this thread...

I do the powerpoint to FCP a lot.
Make sure you sequence knows it isn't interlaced footage or the DVD results will look like garbage.

I use SnagProX (I think that's the name, or is it Snap Pro X?) to record the screen and then save it as a Quicktime format--the SnapPro does that part.

I also record the audio voice over to do this.

I do this on the Mac whereas on the PC/Windows I would use Camtasia Studio to do it easier (although the current version 6 is full of bugs, bugs and more bugs). So mostly now I use the Mac for this.

I tend to go with Keynote for this. You can export Quicktime in your editing format. Keynote shows are easy to format in any way that you need for your edit. Plus, the quality of fonts and graphics is better than Powerpoint exports in my experience. The downside is that some Powerpoint animations and effects don't translate to Keynote and you might run into font substitutions, slight repositioning of things in the slides, and the like. Keynote works well for exporting individual TIF or other graphic formats as well as Quicktime movies.
