Some time ago I figured out a way to override the existing title of a page but not change it. Now I can't remember how to do either and I need to.

How do you change the title of a page? How do you turn off the override service?

I tried using iWeb SEO to change it after publishing, didn't work.

If you mean overriding it using Javascript then this will not work with search engines since they do not process javascript code.

Two separate issues:

1) Want to change the Title of a page in iWeb. In the past I couldn't figure it out but found some way to override each individual page by applying a common title to each page in the Site. When the page loads in a browser, you see the wrong title and then finally the override title.

2) Tried to use iWeb SEO to apply a new title to each individual page. Meta tags work, title does not. iWeb SEO shows what it should be, but if you open up the source, it isn't there.

Well, that is still the same as the page name. Change this in iWeb and you change the page title that appears in the browser window at the top.

If you have a MMe url, then is should appear as http://web.me.com/username/sitename/pagename - Home.html/About Us.html/ContactUs.html etc.

If you have a domain then it will be http://www.yourdomain.com/Home.html/AboutUs.html/ContactUs.html etc.

The page titles that show up in the browser are exactly the same as the pages names within iWeb - change these and you change what you see in the browser.

Okay, I think I understand what you are trying to do. Alter the page banner title at the top of every page?

If so, I believe that this involves you altering the html code, which you cannot do within the iWeb domain file itself.

To do this, what you need to do is publish your site to a folder from iWeb and use an html editor such as TextWrangler to edit the html code that is there. You can then save it and upload it to your server.
