Currently Being ModeratedNov 22, 2008 5:59 AM (in response to elliotw100)I'm in the same boat, and keep checking back to see if anyone has found the answer--surely we're not the only ones with this problem; I've seen (and heard) it work for other people.

Currently Being ModeratedNov 22, 2008 8:55 AM (in response to jdjanzen)*Apple - where are you?* Please can you look at this? Lots of people are experiencing a similar problem.
I did try uninstalling and then reinstalling a fresh version of iTunes without success. There must be a solution!
Incidentally, I have seen some suggestions that rolling back to iTunes 7.x fixes the problem - but the only way to do that is download iTunes from a third party website which I am not happy to do (security risk, loss of functionality versus 8.x etc).

Currently Being ModeratedNov 22, 2008 9:28 AM (in response to elliotw100)I am having the exact same issue. I have a Macbook Pro running Leopard, everything up to date. iTunes plays fine on the "computer speakers" but when I try to stream to the airport express (which is set up correctly via the airport utility) it is a disaster. It is so frustrating. I can have the airport express sitting 5 feet from my computer and it still does it. Please, please someone help.Macbook Pro, Mac OS X (10.5.5), iPhone 3G, Airport Express

Currently Being ModeratedNov 22, 2008 11:10 AM (in response to elliotw100)I had the same issue. I started keeping a log of the drop out times and duration.
The drop outs were occurring roughly once in a give 20-40 minute period of listening and would last for anywhere from 30 seconds to a minute.
I was running iTunes 8. I downgraded to iTunes 7.5 on my MacBook Pro and the problem went away completely. On my Mac Mini I am still running iTunes 8 and when I stream from the mini I get the drop outs. When I stream from the MacBook Pro it plays continuously for hours where previously under iTunes 8 I had the drops.
Looks to me like an iTunes 8 issue.MacBook Pro Core 2 Duo, Mac OS X (10.5.4)
Currently Being ModeratedNov 22, 2008 3:13 PM (in response to Don Roedl)Once an album would be a huge improvement for me! I get drop outs of a second or two every few seconds--the listening experience could best be described as "intermittent." This is a three-week-old MacBook, Airport Extreme, and Airport Express--everything completely up-to-date.MacBook Pro 15", Mac OS X (10.5.5)
Currently Being ModeratedNov 23, 2008 3:13 AM (in response to elliotw100)Hi, I'm form Buenos Aires Argentina and I have a similar problem, the difference is that I cant hear from the remote speakers at all (work fine with the computer). With my old version of I tunes 7.7 works perfect but when i install the 8.0 (because I bought an Itouch) stop working. Anybody knows what I have to do?
Thanksmacbook, Mac OS X (10.4.11)
Currently Being ModeratedNov 24, 2008 11:59 AM (in response to cbas)I just updated to iTunes 8.0.2, and it seems to have helped a lot--still a ew drop outs now and then, but not nearly as bad as before. Has anyone else had good results from this?MacBook Pro 15", Mac OS X (10.5.5)
Currently Being ModeratedDec 4, 2008 7:42 AM (in response to jdjanzen)Nope - I upgraded to the new version of iTunes 8 and it makes no difference whatsoever. I have EXACTLY the same problem as the OP. I have set up another thread (didn't see this one).
If anyone works this out I will be forever in their debt!

Currently Being ModeratedNov 24, 2008 5:19 PM (in response to elliotw100)Just adding my voice to this! UNRESOLVED! I'm tempted to call Apple and raise ****. Between myself and family, we have 4 Macs, 2 Airport Express, and an iPhone.
I"m not happy about it. I have NO problem paying more money for Apple products - IF THEY WORK BETTER THAN THE OTHER GUY. I think Apple is getting LAZY.....MacBook, Mac OS X (10.4.11)
Currently Being ModeratedNov 28, 2008 11:02 PM (in response to jrutledge)Adding my voice to the fray-
I have iTune 126.96.36.199 running on my home machine (winXP). It simply does not recognize my Airport Express units. I have iTunes 8.0.1 on my laptop (also winXP)and it does find the remote speakers. Want the laugh? I installed the laptop AFTER the home machine- which leads me to believe Apple may have done a quiet rollback.
Anyone who has specific solutions, please post ASAP.Windows XP Pro
Currently Being ModeratedNov 29, 2008 5:04 AM (in response to elliotw100)I have tried connecting my AirPort Express to my network by an ethernet connection.
I have the SAME problem. So it is NOTHING to do with the wireless network.
Apple, listen and try and sort this mess out.Dell, Windows Vista, Dual 2 Core
