My computer won't recognise my iPhone

Whenever I plug my iPhone into my computer nothing happens. It usually comes up in iTunes and I'm prompted to transfer my photos.
Now nothing happens. There isnt even anything in My Computer.

I think the problem may be that I recently plugged my phone into a freinds Mac.
Could that have anything to do with the problem?

Plugging into another computer (Mac or not) would have zero effect.

Have you tried at least rebooting your computer. A service that gets installed with iTunes needs to be running in the background and may of crashed/stopped for a variety of reasons.

You might also want to try plugging your iPhone into a different USB port, try restarting your iPhone, and plug your iPhone into a different computer and see if it works (it could possibly be the iPhone). Let us know what you try and what the results are, or else we won't be able to help you.

I reset my phone and checked that I had the latest vesion version and still nothing happens.

My freind told me that if you plug your iPhonee into a Mac if your a PC user it will reconfigure the phone and it won't work on a PC.

So, any ideas?

Have you tried plugging it into a different USB port on that computer yet? If you plug it into another computer besides yours does it work?

Your friend is wrong, you can plug an iPhone into a Windows Machines, then a MAC, then back to a Windows without any problems. The problems happen when you sync with the computers and you don't have an account setup and you lose your music, videos, and apps (This all depends on if you know what your doing and how you have it setup).
