Anyway to use 3rd gen nano with Bose sound dock 1?

Hey guys,
Im looking to buy my girlfriend the bose sound dock 1 for christmas. She has a 3rd Gen ipod nano, and looking at what ipods will fit it, it only goes upto 2nd gen ipod nano.

So my question is, is there anything that i could get to make the 3rd gen ipod nano fit it?

Actually, it says it will work with 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th generation iPod nanos

ive got a 3rd gen nano, it plays and recharges through the bose sound system, but the new ipod nano 4th gen is not supported to charge through the bose. any ideas how to change this???
