keyboard not working after cleaning

I cleaned the flat aluminum keyboard with a spray that sprays foam and now some keys on the keyboard are not functioning. I have used this spray on other keyboards without any problem.

Yesterday the keys 1, 2, Q, W, A, S, Z, X and the key to lower the volume were not working at all. Today the combination shift + w (to enter capital w) is not working and the volume down key ... what do you suggest? It is very strange if the apple keyabord is so sensitive, this cleaner is supposed to be for keyboards!

thank you

Welcome to the Apple Discussions!

Based on this experience do not use this foam cleaner on this keyboard.
In the past, if Apple keyboards got wet they just needed a good drying out. And if the liquid was sticky, like coffee or soda pop, they first needed to be cleaned of the sticky stuff and then dried out.
I do not have the aluminum keyboard. Can you pop off the keys? Can you open it up by removing a few screws?

Just a hint if this happens again....

I had to use a liquid cleaner to clean some stubborn dirt off of my keyboard awhile ago. After cleaning it, I set it over the heat register in my living room so the furnace could dry it out. Worked like a champ!

This also worked once with a cell phone that got dropped in the washer machine. Hurried up and plucked it out, took the battery out, and the furnace did the rest!
