iPod restore error 1430

My iPod stopped working the other day and I tried to restore using the latest version of iTunes. The restore was unsuccessful and I received an error code 1430. I also noticed that after I reset my iPod, it shows up as MS-DOS format which I understand is normal. Has anyone encountered this problem and found a solution, or is my only option going to be sending it back to apple?
