Windows XP keep crashing

Hello

I've been running Windows XP Pro on my MacBook Air via Bootcamp for a few months and it's been nothing but trouble. It keeps crashing when I close the lid to sleep. Nearly every second time I open the lid the machine has crashed and needs restarting. It quite often crashes in daily use too. It's driving me mad, and I'm very tempted to sell it and go back to a PC.

Can anyone suggest how I could diagnise and repair this please?

thanks a lot

Well I just resolved almost a year long problem with the blue screen of death (BSOD) every 10 or 20 minutes - neither Apple nor Windows help could solve. Problem was masked as I upgraded to bootcamp 2.1 and winxp sp3 and a new version of Norton AV at around the same time. I kept thinking that it must be either the sp or bootcamp and tried repairs and eventually reloaded the whole system with no improvement. 2 nights ago I removed the Norton AV (from the winxp partition) and replaced with Trend Micro's internet security and for the first time in almost a year I've had no crashes - my daughter used the xp partition to do a power point presentation and spent several hours with no problems....

I switched to running it under VMware in a virtual machine with sparse drive.

Stable, did not have to reboot, and it dealt better with the limited disk space on the Air (I have the SSD).

On my new MacBook Pro, I use Boot Camp and Vista 64. But power management is poor. Most of the time, I use VMware Fusion to load the Boot Camp partition.

I have had these issues on my new Macbook Pro 17" and had to spend hours on the phone with Apple (well actually my assistant did)installing XP Home. Now that it has been working a few weeks I have developed other issues.

1. My track pad sporatically goes crazy with the cursor when trying to scroll the internet in Firefox. I scroll to my location then go to select something and bang right to the bottom of the page... anyone able to help?

2. I can not select a resolution in the XP control panel that makes objects appear correctly... like circles appear oblong etc.

3. After several hours it flashes a blue screen with text so quickly it can't be read and then the computer restarts... it *****.

I am an old Mac user back to '84... any help would be appreciated.
