AAC; VBR: 192 vs. 256

AAC; VBR: 192 vs. 256

In general, is the sound difference between a 192 kbps (VBR) and a 256 kbps (VBR) AAC file noticeable enough (while listening to with mid-grade headphones) to justify using the 256 one, when you take disk space + battery drain into account?

This one is a debate for the ages. My suggestion would be to take a track you enjoy and do both to them and see if there is a difference to you.

You will find folks who will swear up and down that the difference is huge for them while others won't be able to pick the higher bit rate track out among others.

This really all depends on your ear.
