Logitech mice won't allow shift-horizontal scroll!

So indeed, I was so happy to install the software for using a Logitech mouse with my Mac and take control of it's extra buttons for frequent tasks...THEN, once installed, I noticed the software KILLED the ability to horizontal scroll by SHIFT-scrolling the scrollwheel!

MAJOR BUZZKILL.

Of course, their tech support confirmed there's nothing I can do, AND that they'd never heard of that (shift-scroll = horizontal scroll) before! How in the world could I be the first?! Is anyone else put off by this setback? I really REALLY need my horizontal-scrollage, and NO, I don't wanna do it via tilting the scrollwheel left-right, which does it in hard-to-control increments. And ideally NO, I don't wanna use a Mighty Mouse because then I'd lose the extra buttons.

I'm just gonna settle down and accept the idea that I'm skrood.
