Cannot open one website - johnlewis.com

Hi,

I'm unable to open www.johnlewis.com on my MacBook and iMac, using or not using OpenDNS, connected via ethernet or wireless, and with Safari or FireFox.

I've been on my ISP's forum and other Mac users are able to access the site.

I've created a new user account
Cleared Safari cache, history etc.
Reset Safari
Rebooted the router

Using Terminal, I can DIG the site so it's surely contactable but my browsers don't see it.

Nothing seems to allow me access to johnlewis.com

Any ideas?

iMac 3.04 GHz and MacBook 2 GHz, Mac OS X (10.5.5)

Can you get it using FireFox?

Try this!

Close Safari.

Open System Preferences/Network. Double click on your connection type, or select it in the drop-down menu. Click on TCP/IP and in the box marked 'DNS Servers' enter the following two numbers:

208.67.222.222
208.67.220.220

Click on Apply Now and close the window.

Restart Safari, and repair permissions.

If that didn't do it, then try this as well:

Empty Safari's cache (from the Safari menu), then close Safari.

Go to Home/Library/Safari and delete the following files:

form values
download.plist

Then go to Home/Library/Preferences and delete

com.apple.Safari.plist

Repair permissions (in Disk Utility).

Start up Safari again, and things should have improved.

Klaus,

Many thanks. I can now access Johnlewis.com.

I was already using OpenDNS so deleted form values and downloads.plist from home/library/safari. Deleted com.apple.safari.plist from preferences, and repaired permissions. One of those steps got it working again.

Finally! I can look into spending more money on stuff for my flat.

And thanks to everyone else for your help
