VESTAX VCI-100 DJ MIDI CONTROLLER Will it work with basic IMAC?

So my kid has a 1 year old base model IMAC - we upgraded only the ram.. But as I read it... IMAC has not sound cart. He wants the VESTAX DJ MIDI CONTROLLER but this model has not sound card.. So I need to know if it will work or do we need to buy external sound card?

imac, Mac OS X (10.5.2), 4mb Ram - 700 Hardrive

Because this is a MIDI over USB 2 device, it should interact properly with your iMac. To be sure, however, you should address your question pre-sale directly to Vestax here: vci-100@vestax.jp
