3 Beeps during Start Up?

3 Beeps during Start Up?

My laptop has three beeps during start up. I checked the link in another thread and it said 3 beeps equals no available banks. What are banks and how can I go about fixing this issue?

Remove and reinsert all of the installed RAM modules.

scratch that. It didnt work. Reinserted the RAM and it made it to the start up screen and frooze. =(

So now I purchased new RAM and inserted it. Machine came on, then I re-inserted the old RAM with the new RAM and it does the beeps again even with the old RAM not inserted. Is the RAM corrupted?

Any advice would help.

Try inserting just the new RAM with no old RAM. If you still have problems, the problem is with the logicboard. If you can use the new but not the old, then the problem is with the old RAM. Mixing and matching you have no control over finding out which RAM is bad.
