In Safari 3.2, I've tried numerous times to turn off Google's SafeSearch mode by going to the Google Global Preferences page and selecting, "Do not filter my search results," then hitting the "Save Preferences" button. I get a pop-up message that says, "Your preferences have been saved," but despite my efforts, I still get "Strict SafeSearch is on" beneath the search field. Flipping over to FireFox, I can successfully deactivate SafeSearch, but in Safari, no go. Any way to get Safari to heed my settings?
If you are trying, as your details suggest, to run Safari 3.2. in OS 10.4.7 it won't work. You must be on 10.4.11 AND have installed security update 2008-007 or higher.
If you are on 10.4.11 then you can try to turn off the anti-phishing security feature in Safari {references/Security.
