Apple's [4GB RAM upgrade| http://store.apple.com/us/memoryfamily/ME_MB ] works great!

Interesting. I went there and put in my model and got:

"MacBook

* 13-inch with 2.4 GHz Processor

No memory currently available for that model."

Hmmm .... Good I'm happy with 2 GB!

I've read many posts about problems with the OWC kit, so stay away from that.

The only reliable kits I've read about are directly from the Apple store, ramjet, and 1 person also posted about Kingston, but I would want more feedback from people with Kingston before going that route.

Alright, I've got one stick of 2GB G.Skill that has been running flawlessly for the last month or so. I've gone through two other sticks of the exact same brand and model number and both have caused system freezes. I'm sitting at 3GB right now with the G. Skill and the original Apple Samsung.

So, G. Skill does work, but it looks like things get iffy with the brand.

I tried the 4Gig OWC kit and the computer locked up repeatedly.
I've been running the 4Gig RamJet kit now for about 15 days and am not having any problems.

Two points:
1) Compared to the G4 with Tiger, the intel MacBook and Leopard is a memory hog. The 4Gig kit did give a nice performance boost.

2) In OWC's defense.
I don't know why the OWC kit did not work. I might have just gotten a bad stick.
They could not have been nicer to work with as far as getting the memory returned and refunded.

I've tried the OWC upgrade with the reported freezing problems. I returned it, and now have the Ramjet; have only had it in for one day, and the machine froze last night. I'm not sure how to recreate it, but typically I'll work on the machine for a while, then close the lid and leave, and when I return it does not wake up from sleep.

I'll keep trying with this set from ramjet, but it looks like I may also have the problem with it.

The apple store has confirmed that it will cost $300 to upgrade there - I bought this macbook the day they came out (10/14). I'm resisting going apple, but may have no choice at this point.
