Restoring Ipod Touch isn't working

Hello,

I recently tried to restore my ipod touch with windows because the cover flow wasn't working properly. I opened ITunes and clicked Restore. But, as I clicked restore, it said it isn't able to restore it and itunes crashed. My ipod touch is now bricked in the "connect to itunes" screen. If I connect it to ITunes, the following screen appears:

Translation:

*The driver for your Apple Mobile Device (recovery mode) has to be installed.*

*-Search drivers and install them (recommended)*
*-Ask later*
*-Don't display this message anymore.*

I really tried everything, I reinstalled Itunes, shut off my firewall, tried to restore the "mobile device support". It seems that the service "Apple Mobile Device" isn't installed, it is acctually not in the list.

Does anybody know what to do?

Thank you very much in advance.

Robin.

Hi Robin,

It looks like there was an issue installing the iTunes and the Apple software.

Try to completely remove and reinstall iTunes and the related Apple software as described here:
http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1926

What security software is running on the PC?
The article above links to this article: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT2292 which will bypass some security software.
