Can't purchase? There is not enough memory available. There was an error in

I just started getting this error tonight from the itunes store. It works fine until I try to purchase a song and then I get this message:

"Could not purchase "song name". There is not enough memory available.
There was an error in the Itunes store. Please try again later."

I tried restarting computer, etc but that didn't help. I am using an older version of itunes (7.5.0.20?). Could this be the problem?
Does anyone know how to fix this or what is causing it?

Ive got the latest version of Itunes and I'm haing the same issue and some more added issues. I just got a new laptop with a 200 g hard drive and when i did a restore of my library using a restore disk it gave me a not enough memory error when it hit 15 g. There is plenty of space left on the drive so I'm not sure where the problem is. Then when I went to purchase new songs it told me it couldnt' download them because there wasnt' enough memory but then they were in my library and worked fine???

I am having the same, extremely frustrating problem here. Never had this issue before. I even deleted some of the old songs and music videos that I never listen to or have on a CD, but I still don't have any memory (or so they say). However, it will let me purchase music videos still but not songs... doesn't seem to make sense to me. It irritates me even more because I need some edited versions of songs by tomorrow morning because I teach a high school dance team.... i guess this is what I get for procrastinating.

I hope Apple reads these forums and start giving answers!

I have been getting this message all day so i called the 1800 number on the post above to see what was going on. He said that the RAM on my computer didnt have enough memory and it was the manufacters problem not theirs and to call Dell. My computer is two months old so I KNOW that is not the problem! Hopefully someone can figure out what is going on! 🙂

Are we all using the PC or Mac version?
This is what's happened, by the sounds of it, they've rolled out some new software to all their servers, not a new iTunes store core software but something and it's screwed everything up. They, being Apple, are not going to admit to it, nor confirm or deny there even IS a problem, but in the next couple of days it will get mysteriously fixed, and they'll say "Oh, you must all have had a glitch".
And I know they WILL fix it because...
...we're all having problems giving them money -- by GEORGE they will be fixing it fast! ;-D

I have no inside knowledge, but I've watched Apple's modus operandi long enough to know this is what will happen.
