iPod touch wont show up in itunes

Ever since i updated to itunes 8 my ipod does not show up in itunes.

It says that Apple Mobile Device is not started.
And when i try to start it, it wont!! it just turns of in a second.

someone plase help.

ive done everything to fix it.

If you only want to add songs and create and edit playlists on your ipod, you should try using an alternative to itunes

Go to Start-run-services.msc
Find apple mobile device and start it if it is stopped and makes sure it is set to automatic. If this doesn't work try reinstalling itunes.

ok what I ended up doing is restarting the computer (with backup) and then installing iTunes again and it worked!!

my ipod touch is now detected by iTunes (:

my ipod touch is not recognized on my pc. altho when I put my bro's nano it is recognized. it worked before, and now i dont know what happened. PLEASE HELP!!!
