I had been using the BBC iPlayer on my touch without a problem in 2.1. Now that I've updated though, instead of the 'play' symbol I get a message telling me "Sorry, programmes can only be accessed over a wifi connection" - which obviously is what I'm using to access the site in the first place...
Anyone else getting this or found a way round it?
2 x 2.8 GHz Mac Pro,
Mac OS X (10.5.5),
ATI Radeon HD 2600 XT
Same issue, cannot live without Iplayer, Just restoring now until problem sorted out. Not happy, liked the Podcast option in 2.2, but like iplayer more.
Broke mine too. Same error message.
I'm going to have to revert. I've only had my touch for two weeks. Can anyone point me to a reliable guide for conducting this procedure. I'm assuming it's not straightforward.
No problems with iPlayer before or after updating to 2.2 on my 3G iPhone or my son's 2G iPhone.
However, yesterday I bought my Mrs a new Touch. iPlayer was working fine over the home wifi on the Touch yesterday and this afternoon - updated to 2.2 this evening and I'm now getting the 'Sorry, programmes can only be accessed over a wifi connection' message. Have done all the usual, rebooted, cleared cookies and caches etc with no joy.
As above - no issues over the same wifi on 2.2 with both iPhones though... She doesn't know yet...
Don't you just LOVE thoroughly tested software updates from Apple? How many bad versions of iTunes have they shoved onto us in the past couple of years? ANSWER: far, far too many. They take one step forward, and two steps backwards with many of their updates.
