Samsung SyncMaster T220HD DisplayPort to DVI connection problem
I have a Samsumg SyncMaster T220HD monitor.
I recently bought a new MacBookPro with the following characteristics:
Model Name: MacBook Pro
Model Identifier: MacBookPro5,1
Processor Name: Intel Core 2 Duo
Processor Speed: 2.8 GHz
Number Of Processors: 1
Total Number Of Cores: 2
L2 Cache: 6 MB
Memory: 4 GB
Boot ROM Version: MBP51.0073.B02
Here is the link to my monitors specs:
http://www.samsung.com/us/consumer/detail/detail.do?group=computersperipherals&t ype=monitors&subtype=lcd&model_cd=LS22TDNSUV/ZA
When I connect my mac to the monitor with a DVI-D cable the monitor's screen starts flickering and I see blinked pink pixels everywhere.
I tried with and old Mac Book Pro and the monitor works just fine.
I think that the display port doesn't supprt my resolution (1680x1050) ; in fact if I decrease the resolution to something like 1200x900 the problem disappears.
I also brought my mac to the apple support center here in Italy, but the problem persists with every new Mac Book Pro they tried.
Do I have to wait for e patch? What can I do? this problem is very tiresome!
Thanks.
