Adobe Reader Opens Blank Screens

I've tried searching the forums w/o success...

When I open a PDF file on-line adobe reader opens a blank or black screen. I have deleted the old reader app and reloader another (reader 7, 8 and tried 9)... checked for updates... ran utilities etc. Nothing seems to work.

I'm running G4 iBook with 10.4.11

IbookG4, Mac OS X (10.4.11)

Hello,

Try deleting this file: com.adobe.Reader.plist <-- wording might be slightly different but I'm close. It's here; /Users/YourName/Library/Preferences. Drag that file from the Preferences folder to the Trash, empty the Trash and reboot.

See if that helps...

plist files and now PDF files will open, but the format is incorrect. I reloaded adobe reader, checked for plist files (none found), re-started the computer and I'm back to a blank screen...

Any other suggestions?

The new plist file won't be generated until you launch Adobe Reader first. At this point, I would send the current Adobe Reader application to the Trash and download a new one. Go here; http://www.adobe.com/products/acrobat/readstep2.html?promoid=BUIGO

Launch Adobe Reader. From the menu: Adobe Reader>Preferences>Internet. Make sure that you have checked the box, "Display PDF in browser using: {insert the version of Adobe Reader you are using}."
