I've searched through the topics but haven't been able to find one for my problem. While playing any video (movie, tv show, etc.) on iTunes, the video often freezes up while the sound continues, then the video runs out-of-synch while freezing repeatedly. I keep my iTunes library on an external hard drive which is always connected to my computer. All of these have been purchased through the iTunes store, so I know that content isn't an issue.

Has anyone else had this problem? Verifying disk permissions hasn't been of any help. Any suggestions? Thanks.

Is your software up to date? iTunes 8 requires Mac OS X version 10.4.9 or later and QuickTime 7.5.5 or later.

Yes, thanks. Everything's current. I've tried re-starting the computer, closing other apps, but nothing seems to change it.

I've been having this same issue for a couple of weeks now, just been to busy to do anything about it until now. Any video that plays through itunes holds a high chance of it slightly freezing picture while audio continues playing, (playing in small window mode, set to stay on top of all other windows). The same video plays fine if opened using QT player. Oh and it doesn't seem to matter if the video was purchased from the itunes store, podcast, or imported in. First noticed it while watching Digg V-Podcast. I'd also like to note that I can have a similar issue when playing trailers on netflix, to correct it there I just reload the page and the video will be fine.
