    Restore your iPod.

If the apps don't work still, redownload them through iTunes.

I'm having the same problem. The default applications work still but the ones I've installed don't. It worked at first then after a while some unknown reason it opens for 3-5 seconds and closes. Then I tried uninstalling and reinstalling it again. It worked but same issue came up again after. The applications I installed were Facebook, Google, and Google Earth. All of them doing the same thing. I've also tried the whole reset but nothing seems to help me keep my applications working without continually uninstall install.

Anyone know a fix to this? Or is it to do with the 2.2 update problems?

Glad I found these comments. Mine's doing the exact same thing -- tap icon, page looks like it's opening, then it immediately goes back to the menu. Although mine have never worked. Won't resetting mess up what I've put on thus far? Thanks for any guidance.

I had the same problem a while back and simply logging into itunes worked. I don't know why it just started working after i logged on. Try that it might work.

Exactly the same thing was happening to me and then I saw what you had done, tried it out, and it worked! Thank you! I was just wondering whether all your apps were free because mine are and I was thinking if it is just free apps or both that are affected.

I did encounter this problem this morning, I was able to launch my application yesterday night but it fail to open any application that downloaded from Apple Store. The main application (came with iPod touch) is working perfectly fine. I tried sync with my notebook (no issue), tried to remove some application, re-start / reset and still doesn't work. I suspect something got to do with ver 2.2 yesterday night. Can't explain why it fail on 1 Dec 2008.
    Will try your method tonight.

I didn't realize it until lou61166 suggested it, but the trigger for all my downloaded apps to quit working was, indeed, a sync.

I went back to iTunes and set it to not sync applications. The downloaded apps still quit working after a sync.

I'm pursuing a warranty claim on this issue. Apple can just keep replacing it until they get it right.
