can't eject ipod

When I try to eject ipod using eject button it tells me that files are in use by another application. How do I eject then?

A couple of thoughts-
see if for some reason the iTunes is playing some songs on your nano or not, if it is, make sure you stop playing music from your nano while it is attached.

A tech person told me once, if i was having trouble with being allowed to eject a usb flashdrive, a safe way of ejecting it would be first to turn off the computer and then it should safely eject.

Finally, recommend that you call apple or make an appt at a local apple store Genius Bar to see what is happening, why your computer won't allow you to eject.

hope that helps 🙂
