Timecapsule ports auto-sensing?

I was wondering if I could use a cross-over cable to connect my Time capsule to my Mac Pro. Thoughts? I wouldn't normally do this but it is the only cable I have that is long enough and I am not able to locate a normal cable.

Mac Pro 8-core, Mac OS X (10.5.5), Final Cut 2 Studio

You can; both devices are auto-sensing, and only one needs to be for the crossover cable to work.
