iPhone SDK 2.2: Localization problem?

Can anybody replicate that Localizeable.strings no longer work?

Set up:
- SDK 2.2 final installed.
- Localizeable.strings in de.lproj and en.lproj.
- Compiled Debug for OS 2.1.
- Works perfectly fine for both languages on Simulator.
- Does not work on 3G device.

Can anybody duplicate problems with Localizeable.strings? Any hints?

iMac, Mac OS X (10.5.4), iPhone 16GB, iPhone 3G 16GB, Apple Firmware 2.1

Hello BeSharp...

Found info on another forum:

Select all your text in the localizable.string, then change it to UTF16 (view>text>file encoding)

should work then...

Can anyone confirm that this is the problem, and that this solves the problem? I haven't had a chance to try it myself. I saw on another forum, which was in Russian so I'm not sure I understood it all correctly, that there was an issue where the SDK wants the files to now be called Localizable.strings.. So I'm wondering if that is just an incorrect item, or if there may perhaps be multiple solutions?

I am having the same problem.
I found that renaming the file in my language project in the App package worked. ( I just removed the funny number extension) This must be a bug...

I am using SDK 2.2, with Localizeable.strings in English.lproj and de.lproj folders, compiled for 2.0. This works fine on a 2.2 iPod Touch. What version is your 3G running? My app is being beta tested atm, and I'll ask them to check the localization on their 3G devices.

FWIW, I don't have any funny number extensions.....

Changing the file to UTF-16 encoding fixed the problem for me on SDK 2.2.1. Thanks
