Logitech Rumblepad 2

Can anyone clarify if these work with MacBook Pros?

If they do work could you clarify if the vibration feature works too??

MacBook Pro, Mac OS X (10.5.5)

I haven't done much computer gaming lately, as I prefer my Xbox 360 these days, but I have a cordless Rumblepad 2 that I've used extensively in the past. It works well in OS X with games that support USB gamepads once the buttons are mapped to the game's keyboard keys with USB Overdrive. Not all Mac games support USB gamepads, however, so that's something to watch out for.

If this is the case then the game should'nt have to support USB gamepads because all games use the keyboard....

You would think so, but the gamepad and the keyboard are different hardwire devices. In my experience with the Rumblepad 2 and USB Overdrive, games that didn't support USB gamepads didn't respond to all of the buttons that were mapped, but I suppose the results may vary depending on the specific game.

The joysticks work, but the only game I recall the vibration working on was Halo, which had support for the Rumblepad built into the Mac version of the game. The Mac versions of Doom 3 and Quake 4 worked well once the buttons were mapped using USB Overdrive, but I don't recall the vibration working in those games. If the Mac version of the game has Rumblepad support built into it, everything should work. If not, the rumble may not work, as there's no way to map that in.
