Question

iPhone keeps restarting.

I updated to 2.2 a few days ago, the first day everything was fine, then it went downhill. Over the past day my phone has restarted itself every couple of minutes. I have reset it multiple times, and restored it. Any ideas? I would bring it the the Genius bar, except for the fact that my phone in no longer under warranty. Is there a way to restore back to 2.1? Its extremely annoying to be doing something on the phone, and it decides to take a break, refresh and reboot.

Sorry but I'm bumping it. I need help. This is for a first generation iPhone. Can I downgrade to 2.1?

Hi Julienne,

When you restored the iPhone, did you recover from backup or setup as a new iPhone? Try restoring the iPhone again and setting it up as a new phone.

Also, try testing without any 3rd-party accessories, if its being used with accessories.

this is happening to me as well.
i downgraded to factory settings as a new iPhone.
still restarting itself - not as often as jason's. but several times per day.

oooh, too bad about being out of warranty. this was happening to me back in April earlier this year. it was eventually replaced.
