Possible to lock Playlists from accidental deletion?

Over the years I have been annoyed by accidently deleting a Playlist. There is no "are you sure you want to delete?" window or something similar...it just happens and you can 'undo' it. Does anyone know of a way to lock a Playlist or do something similar so that it can be deleted?

Many thanks...

I also accidently erased a playlist in itunes (8.0.2) and I try to found a way to lock my playlists.
I went on -prefs- ; -advanced- but there is no box -Reset all dialog warnings-.
I tried to uninstall and reinstall itunes thinking that it will reset the options but in vain!
It still not show me any warning when I erase a playlist.
Any other suggestions? Do you think it is because I have a PC?
Thanks.

Apple iTunes support/ engineers:

I also do this. Would there be a possibility of just adding a simple little "Lock" icon next to the little right arrow shown when you select a playlist? This would allow the user to "lock" a playlist so there would be no way to delete unless they "unlocked" the playlist. I do like the dialogue that comes up asking you but adding this feature would for sure prevent accidental deletion.
thanks!

Considering all the time it took me to rip all my CDs plus the over $1,000 or iTunes Store purchases organized into my 50 favorite playlists and the fact that I have suffered two hard drive failures in the last 7 years, I finally invested $170 in a simple backup.

I use this: http://store.apple.com/us/product/TR044ZM/A?fnode=MTY1NDA0Nw&mco=MjE1NDcxOQ&p=3& s=alpha

and this: http://www.decimus.net/synk_standard.php

Whenever I add or edit music, I plug in the portable drive and make a complete backup of my entire iTunes folder. Since the backups are incremental, it took less than two minutes to backup after I added 27 songs today. If I have any problems, I can just copy the complete backup back to my computer and I'm back in business.
