Capturing from camera not supported by Final Cut Pro...

Hello,

Are there any methods of capturing from an HDV camera that is not supported by Final Cut?

I ask this because I have recently discovered that my particular camera, HDR-HC5, is, in fact, not supported by Final Cut, and was wondering if, in the program, there was a way around it?

Mac OS X (10.5.3)

not supported doesn't necessarily mean won't work, have you tried? That's a sony hdv camera right? It should connect via firewire and I'd be very surprised if it doesn't work, I've never had a problem with any sony cameras and fcp, either dv or hdv.

Yes, it is, indeed, a Sony camcorder. Only, I've read a few messages suggesting that the camera does not work. However, it's definitely worth a try. I haven't tried it yet, but I'm contemplating a purchase.
