Flaming/Burning Text

Is there any way to make flaming text within Live Type? I'd be willing to purchase an addon/plugin if thats what is necessary.
I'm sure there are multiple ways to do this, I just haven't been able to figure it out.
Thanks for any help I may receive.

Use the text as a mask.

Put the text on V1 in FCP's Timeline, put the flames footage on top on V2. Click the flames footage and in the menu bar, go to Modify > Composite Mode > Travel Matte Luma.

If you want the effect over live video, move the text to V2 and the flames to V3.

In LiveType: select your text layer click Attributes in the Inspector then on "Matte to" > "Movie or Image". Choose your fire footage and click OK.

Add a soft glow in the same color as your fire -you can animate this by adding a new effect and keyframing the glow to change color over time. Very neat.

As Bogie mentioned Nick's suggestion is simpler.

If you do want to do this in LT though, just know that LT will NOT matte Objects, like the fire options you find in the Pyro Category. Instead what you will need to do is export the Pyro object.

Then as Bogie suggests using the Matte, under Attributes tab in the Inspector you will need to matte to "Movie or Image" to make it work in LT.
