Q: MacBook Pro screen blinks

My new MacBook Pro display screen is blinking or flickering every few minutes now. I've only noticed it when I've switched to the integrated 9400M graphics processor. I don't recall seeing any blinks when using the discrete 9600M GPU. Usually it is only the top half or so of the display that blinks or flickers for a split second. Anyone else having the same problem?

MacBook Pro (Late 2008), Mac OS X (10.5.5), tv, iPhone, iPod Touch, et al

i had a special student discount that was available for only a short period.. (inlc apple care for free).. at least now they accepted in attributing the same special discount price for the new machine even tho the period has gone by long time already.. but thats the least they could do!

it depends on the background.. if i watch a movie i cant see any flicker. but if i m surfing on brightness 1-5 i can see a high frequency flicker..

on certain pages its just visible how inacceptable it is..

for example: http://livescore.com (also visible with high brightness)

i have never seen this kind of flicker on any screen since the old crt tv screens or when i looked in a fluorescent light tube..

so for 2000 euro, its unacceptable. return it

I have also flickers at 2b and 4b with the new machine with the 00009C85 display.

Must be something else, because now i have no more strobe, fliker, blinking between 2 and 5 point.

    Que t'as dit Apple ?

as a sidenote: i have tried this inversion screen link with many different machines. on a working screen it is NOT supposed to flicker on any given 1-5 a or b.

    So i have checked on an 5 year old DELL 14" laptop: no flicker whatsoever;
powerbook g4, 12": no flicker whatsoever
macbook pro 15" (2007): NO flicker whatsoever

i have tried the link in an authorised reseller of apple on all current MB & MBP there was heavy flicker on 2b and 4b.. the sales person in the shop was shocked when i shoew him! he couldnt explain, asked what apple say..

you wanna know what apple says: they say its all good, there is no problem with the displays.. unbelievable!
